Dr Hannah Sylvester is a Specialist Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Sonologist caring for women, families and their pregnancies at St John of God Murdoch Hospital.

Dr Sylvester provides all aspects of pregnancy related care and delivery of your baby or babies. Whether you are planning a pregnancy, already pregnant and wish to book in or have concerns or complications please contact our friendly administration staff to discuss how we can help you.

Our Services

Dr Sylvester is highly experienced in obstetrics, gynaecology and ultrasonology. This includes all aspects of pre-pregnancy, early pregnancy including its complications, routine antenatal care and delivery and the postpartum period. 

Preconception counselling

An appointment with Dr Sylvester prior to getting pregnant can address your concerns and optimize your chances of a successful future pregnancy. Especially if you have a medical condition or have had previous pregnancy complications. We aim to get your pregnancy off to the best possible start with exceptional care for you and your baby from the beginning.

Early pregnancy complications

Dr Sylvester is available to manage patients with complications of early pregnancy such as bleeding, pain, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, hyperemesis and any other complaints in early pregnancy that you may have. You can be seen urgently, even before your pregnancy is booked in and receive an ultrasound at the same appointment.

Pregnancy care

Dr Sylvester takes bookings for pregnancy management, this involves all the care you require from the beginning of pregnancy right through to your postnatal check.

Delivery

Dr Sylvester carries out vaginal and caesarean deliveries at St John of God Murdoch Hospital where she is supported by highly experienced labour ward midwives, anaesthetists and neonatologists. Your care will be individualised and respectful of you and your families wishes. While you can be assured we are providing a skilled and safe delivery or your baby.

Postnatal check-up

An appointment will be made at about 6 weeks following your delivery. This is an excellent time to debrief on the delivery and check up on your health in the fourth trimester.
